Pricing handmade artwork 30% faster with AI image recognition

The challenge
A UAE-based company specialising in custom-built, handcrafted artwork had a pricing problem most niche manufacturers know well. Every piece is different — quotes depended on client preferences, materials, complexity, dimensions, seasonality and live market conditions, and every quote was built manually, from scratch, every time. The result: inconsistent pricing, long quote turnaround and a scaling ceiling.
What we built
Omegamatrix proposed an AI-powered price estimation engine combining image recognition with historical pricing data. The model identifies components within an uploaded image — materials, complexity drivers — then calculates a price range using historical sales and material costs, with manual override controls and optional inputs for client tier, seasonality and complexity.
The result
Quote generation got 30% faster, letting the team process more client requests in the same week. Prices became more consistent across similar pieces, which protected margin and made the brand feel more professional to repeat clients. And because the engine keeps learning, every new quote made the next one slightly sharper.
AI doesn't replace craft. It removes the parts of the craftsman's day that were never craft — like quoting the same kind of piece for the hundredth time.
